1 Make With Top Object is a part of Envelope Distort.
Make a simple square. Then duplicate it and change the colours randomly.
Select row and then rotate it. Move it down.
2 Choose all the squares and move them down. Press the Alt key to duplicate it. Press Control+D to continue to duplicate.
3 Draw half of a butterfly. Average the two end points using vertical. Duplicated it.
Move it into place by pressing the shift key.
Use Control+J to join both sets of end points by choosing them with the Direct Selection tool.
4 Press Control+A to choose everything.
5 Open Envelope Distort and choose Make with Top Object.
6 Then press OK.
Choose Expand and check all boxes.
7 Apply a 1 pt black stroke to the piece.
8 Use Transform and then Ungroup the piece. Apply a Drop Shadow.
9 The piece is finished.
